Maria Phillips

Maria Phillips is the founder of Aythawn International Law Chambers, with over 16 years of experience as a practicing Attorney-at-Law. Her areas of expertise include family law, intellectual property, and international trade law, with additional practice in personal injury, corporate and commercial law, estate and succession law, property law and conveyancing, and immigration law.

Phillips holds a Master’s degree in International Law from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and a Master of Science in International Trade Policy from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill. She is also a certified mediator, having completed her training at the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution in London.

Under her leadership, Aythawn International Law Chambers has established itself as a provider of comprehensive legal services, partnering with companies in the real estate and dispute settlement sectors. The firm caters to a wide-ranging international clientele, including businesses, regional organizations, and individuals. Phillips has contributed her expertise as a trade consultant and legal advisor to statutory corporations and financial institutions.

She has held positions on several boards and is the former Deputy Chairperson of the Barbados Accreditation Council. She currently serves as a Trustee for the Barbados Centre for Conflict Management, focusing on conflict resolution training for educational institutions.
